The View from Down Here

A client once told me, "Just go to the top, take the picture, it's a great view."

I replied, "What's wrong with the view from down here?"

The client looked at me quizzically. "What do you mean?"

I explained, "I think the view from down here is just as beautiful, if not more so. It's more intimate, more personal. You can see the details that you might miss from up high."

The client thought for a moment. "You know, you're right. I never thought of it that way."

We ended up taking the picture from down below, and the client loved it. "How did you know?" they asked. "That's exactly what I wanted!"

I smiled. "I'm a photographer," I said. "It's my job to see the beauty in the world, no matter where I look."
